Fine Arts Colleges in pune

Fine art refers to arts that are concerned with a limited number of visual and performing art forms, including painting, sculpture, dance, theatre, architecture and printmaking. An academic course of study in fine art may include a Bachelor of Fine Arts or a Master of Fine Arts degree. Doctor of Fine Arts degrees (received as opposed to honorary degrees) have begun to emerge at some academic institutions.

Pune City is renowned for its art and cultural surroundings, that’s why Pune is known as the cultural capital of Maharastra. One of the well known art colleges is Abhinav Kala Mahawidyalaya: Oldest art school of Pune. It is known for programs in Applied Arts, Fine Arts and Art education training.

Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of the Government of India. FTII was founded in 1960 at the previous Prabhat studio building at Pune. The institute has produced some distinguished alumni such as Subhash Ghai, Jaya Bhaduri, and Shatrughan Sinha etc.

Duration: Four years.
Eligibility: Candidate seeking admission to the first year of the degree course in applied Art must have passed Maharashtra State Board of the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination, State Board Higher Secondary Education or an Examination of any other University or Board Recognized as equivalent. Candidate should have passed entrance examination conducted by the college with minimum 50% marks.
Admission: Prescribed application form duly filled must be submitted to the college along with the following certificates: Birth certificate, Std. XII (HSC) passing Certificate & mark sheet. Caste certificate. (If applicable). School leaving Certificate. Gap certificate. (If applicable), Migration certificate. (If applicable).
